SF Opera and Picnic at Stern Grove

SF Opera will bring the wonderful voice and music to close this year’s free summer concerts of Stern Grove Festival. Featuring soprano Patricia Racette and tenor James Valenti performing operatic classics with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra conducted by Stephen Lord.

 

· Time and Date: 10:45am, Aug 19 (Sun), 2007.

 

· Place: Stern Grove (Sloat Blvd and 19th Ave), San Francisco.

 

· RSVP and fees:

(1) The concert is free.

(2) Please respond, and let me know if you can bring a ground cover for picnic.

(3) If you’d like to carpool, please indicate the city you live.

· Meet: At the entrance located on Sloat Blvd and 19th Ave by 10:45am. The concert starts at 2:00pm.

 

· Directions:

(1) Limited street parking in the area. If you want to park close to Stern Grove, be there early.

(2) MUNI buses: 23 and 28, exit at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard

MUNI Metro: K or M, exit at St. Francis Circle

BART: to Civic Center and transfer to MUNI Metro K or M; to Glen Park and transfer to MUNI bus 23; to Daly City and transfer to MUNI bus 28

 

· Bring: Layered clothing, water, drink, lunch, sunscreen, hat, binoculars, and any picnic stuff.

 

· Description:
Although the concert starts at 2:00pm, we need to be there early to get a good spot. It’s also easier to park on the street in the morning. Once we claim our territory, we can take turns to explore the park. It would be good to finish our lunch before the concert. The performance will end around 4pm.
